Giuseppe Pappalardo

Full Professor of Informatics [INF/01]

Giuseppe Pappalardo graduated in Electrical Engineering from the University of Catania in 1983. He carried out research in Computer Science at the University of Catania, Politecnico of Milan, and the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, where he was awarded a PhD in Computing Science and held a position as Research Associate.

He was Research Associate, then Associate Professor of Computer Engineering at the University of Reggio Calabria, then Associate Professor and, since 2002, Full Professor of Computer Science at the University of Catania, in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science.

His research interests are mainly in the area of Distributed Systems. He has investigated formal techniques for the specification and verification of systems, fault tolerance, software architectures, image processing, robotic systems, smart cities. He has authored over 150 scientific publications in the field of Computer Science. He has been or is principal investigator of several scientific projects funded by Sicily Region and the Italian Ministry of Education.
